When selecting an air compressor, the hardest part is usually not finding one, but finding the right one: the gaps between power ratings are so wide that a smaller unit is not enough, while a larger one runs in an inefficient range for years. When the production line expands and air demand rises, another machine has to be bought, and the piping, electrical work and floor space all have to be redone.
The ESSENCE FASV+-TMA two-stage high-efficiency PM VSD screw air compressor addresses this with a finer power ladder. It covers eight power points from FASV+22A*TMA to FASV+132A*TMA, spanning 22-132 kW at a working pressure of 0.7-1.25 MPa. With two-stage compression and PM VSD starting, air delivery in this series reaches up to 30.00 m³/min.
The FASV+-TMA model name contains two key words that stand for two technologies.
Two-stage compression addresses the efficiency of the compression process itself: it splits a single compression into two stages with interstage cooling. With a lower pressure ratio per stage, gas backflow between the rotors is reduced and the inlet temperature of the second stage is lower, bringing the compression process closer to isothermal and cutting energy losses accordingly.
PM VSD addresses whether air supply matches air demand: speed is continuously adjusted to air consumption, so power is used in proportion to the air used, avoiding the no-load waste of the load/unload mode in fixed-speed machines.
Both technologies serve the same goal: turning as much of the input electricity as possible into usable compressed air. That is what "high efficiency" comes down to.
The FASV+-TMA power points are 22, 37, 45, 55, 75, 90, 110 and 132 kW, eight steps in all. At 0.7 MPa, for example, the corresponding air deliveries are 1.80-4.50, 2.96-7.40, 4.16-10.40, 5.12-12.80, 7.00-17.50, 8.32-20.80, 9.80-24.50 and 12.00-30.00 m³/min.
The value of a fine ladder shows up directly in practice: when air demand grows, you usually only need to move one step up within the same series rather than rework the whole plan. For companies in an expansion cycle, where air demand rises gradually, this predictable upgrade path is valuable in itself.
Note that the parameter table lists eight power points from 22 to 132 kW, while the series as a whole is rated at 22-355 kW and 1.16-73.00 m³/min of air delivery. In selection, use the air delivery of the specific model at its pressure step.
The FASV+-TMA air outlet grows step by step with power: G1 1/4 on small models, G2 in the middle range, and square flange DN80 and flange DN80 on high-power models. Port size and flow rate must match; an undersized pipe adds pressure loss and leaves the machine working but unable to deliver. Piping design should be done together with unit selection.
Another detail is the relationship between pressure and air volume. Taking the 22 kW model as an example, air delivery is 1.80-4.50 m³/min at 0.7 MPa, drops to 1.36-3.40 m³/min at 1.0 MPa, and is only 1.16-2.90 m³/min at 1.25 MPa. Each step up in pressure cuts the available air volume — a rule that holds for this series as well.
The FASV+-TMA is rated at 220/380/415/440V, 50/60Hz, covering several common power supply standards so it suits different plants and regions. The drive is a coupling drive: in the mid-to-high power range this form is structurally direct with good load capacity, well suited to long continuous running, and it removes the belt-tensioning and belt-replacement maintenance that belt drives require.
The aftercooler outlet temperature is rated at ≤ ambient temperature + 15°C. This figure affects the air temperature entering the refrigerated dryer and filters: the better the discharge temperature is controlled, the lighter the load on the compressed air treatment equipment and the lower the energy consumption and failure rate of the whole air system.

High efficiency comes down to two things: the compression process itself must be economical, and the air supply rhythm must keep up. The FASV+-TMA uses two-stage compression for the former and PM VSD for the latter, and adds a power ladder fine enough that users of different scales can find the right step within a single series.
