Compressed air is often called the "fourth utility," yet its cost structure is frequently underestimated: the purchase price is only a small part, and it is electricity that really costs money. In a compressor's power consumption, the most easily wasted portion is precisely the time when air demand changes and "the machine is still running at full speed while the air cannot be used."
The ESSENCE ESV VSD screw air compressor is designed specifically to cut that waste. It uses PM VSD start, with working pressure of 0.7-1.25 MPa, air delivery of 2.52-55.00 m³/min, power from 45 to 300 kW, and voltage/frequency covering 220/380/415/440V, 50/60Hz, adapting to different regional power supply standards. ESSENCE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fusheng Group; its products have been updated and iterated over many years and are backed by Fusheng's service system, exporting to Europe and Southeast Asia. Compared with the common 0.7-0.8 MPa models, its pressure ceiling is raised to 1.25 MPa, covering processes with higher pressure requirements such as laser cutting and high-pressure blowing, for a wider range of use.
Not every application suits VSD, and the test is actually simple — whether air demand is steady. If a machine runs at full load year-round with air volume barely changing, VSD brings limited benefit; but as long as demand has clear peaks and troughs, the economics of VSD are magnified quickly. ESV adjusts output continuously through speed: slower and less power-hungry when demand is low, faster to make up air when demand is high, avoiding the fixed-speed machine's waste of "blowing off what cannot be used." In other words, what a VSD model does best is make the machine's output follow air demand, rather than making air demand bend to the machine's fixed speed.
ESV uses PM VSD start. Compared with fixed-speed direct starting, VSD soft start draws a smaller starting current, places less impact on the grid and machinery, and reduces disturbance to other electrical equipment in the plant at the moment of startup. For businesses with limited transformer capacity that still need a fairly large compressor, this is often critical at the design stage.
ESV's voltage/frequency rating is 220/380/415/440V, 50/60Hz. This combination means it suits not only the domestic grid but also regions such as Europe and Southeast Asia with different voltages and frequencies. The fact that the product is already exported to these regions also confirms that its electrical design and manufacturing standards travel across markets. For users with plants in several locations or overseas operations, this type of model also makes spares and service easier to standardise. For export or overseas projects, whether voltage and frequency match is often the first thing to confirm in selection — bringing 220V, 380V, 415V, and 440V together with 50Hz and 60Hz into the design scope gives users more room when checking against the local grid standard, and makes spare-parts and maintenance standards easier to unify later.

The line "aftercooler outlet temperature ≤ ambient + 15°C" directly determines the load on downstream refrigerated dryers and filters: the better the discharge temperature is controlled, the lighter the burden on treatment equipment and the lower the failure rate across the whole air system. The drive is coupling drive, with a direct power path and few routine maintenance items. In addition, the air outlet comes in two sizes, flange DN80 and flange DN100, making it easy to connect to plant networks of different scales; for projects upgrading an existing compressor station, matching the interface can save considerable piping modification cost.
VSD is not a master key, but it is genuinely an effective way to handle the common condition of "unstable air demand." ESV combines PM VSD start, wide voltage adaptability, and coupling drive, suited to businesses whose air demand fluctuates yet who want a stable, reliable air source.
