Why Laser Cutting Needs 1.6 MPa Dedicated Models

The assist gas in laser cutting takes part directly in the cutting process, and both the pressure rating and its stability affect the cut result. The ESSENCE EMX-16, EMX-16F and ES-16F all have a rated working pressure of 1.6 MPa, leaving margin for high-pressure cutting processes; air delivery covers two ranges, 0.3–3.80 m³/min and 0.60–3.80 m³/min, with power of 7.5–37 kW, so a specification can be found within the series from a single cutting machine to a small cutting shop running several machines together.

Two Paths: PM VSD and Integrated

The EMX-16 and EMX-16F follow the PM VSD path: PM VSD starting and coaxial direct drive, with speed adjusted continuously to air demand, so when air use falls during piercing, idle travel or waiting stages, air output falls with it and pressure fluctuation is smaller. The ES-16F is an integrated model dedicated to laser cutting, using Y-△ starting and belt drive, with a more economical structural approach, suited to applications with relatively stable demand that are more sensitive to initial investment. Both paths offer full-performance models, with a rated pressure dew point of 2–10 °C.

Selecting by Cutting Duty

1. First confirm the pressure rating the cutting process requires; 1.6 MPa is the upper limit of capability, so take the point-of-use requirement as the basis;
2. In a shop with many cutting machines and pronounced demand fluctuation, give priority to the PM VSD EMX-16 and EMX-16F;
3. In applications with relatively stable demand that are budget-sensitive, evaluate the integrated ES-16F;
4. Plan drying and filtration at the same time, according to the process requirements for dew point and dust content.
